Unlike the Xeneon Flex, which manages its slim frame by moving its port hub to its stand, the Odyssey OLED G9 saves space by simply not including many ports. For comparison, the bendy Corsair Xeneon Flex is around 6mm (0.2 inch). (The lower the millimeter count, the tighter the curve is.) Despite the less-perceptible curve, the thin panel is sure to catch your eye because it's so thin, measuring at a razor-thin 4.5mm, or 0.18 inch at its thinnest point. Also expressed as "1800R," the number is the radius of a circle that would be created by a hypothetical ring of these monitors placed edge to edge. The OLED G9's wide wingspan curves slightly, with a gentle 1,800mm curvature. The Odyssey OLED G9 may be a world’s first, but it’s familiar to fans who’ve laid eyes on Samsung’s older G9 models or even recent ultrawide offerings from competitors, like the LG 49 Curved Ultragear, which we're reviewing alongside it. An Odyssey Like No Other, Priced to Match But if you can afford it, few screens have more wow factor than the Editors' Choice-winning Odyssey OLED G9. Of course, with great innovation comes a weighty price: Interested buyers will have to dig deep. The Odyssey OLED G9 ($2,199) is the latest revision of the Odyssey G9 that just happens to the first 49-inch, 32:9 curved OLED gaming monitor. With its newest offering, Samsung hopes to give those shoppers the best of both worlds. But for a certain subset of gamers, it’s not all about the pixel count, but the size-or, more precisely, the width-of the monitor. A 4K resolution and a high refresh rate are on the minds of hardcore gamers who want the best of the best out of their gaming monitors.
